PAADS is pleased to offer its Executive Athlete Development Academy. The program is led by faculty members of the University of Dallas, Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business, who have extensive experience in training professionals to enhance their individual performance and their contribution to the success of their organizations.
The hands-on, experiential methods they apply incorporate areas of focus critical to the success of the Athlete Development Specialist. After the 2.5 days in class, each participant will continue to work in a virtual classroom environment on a group project involving a practical challenge or issue in the field of athlete development.
Groups can either present their project at the 2017 PAADS Athlete Development Summit or submit it as a white paper to be available on the PAADS’ website. Groups will have on-going conference calls (scheduled during the in person session) with faculty and access to University resources and faculty through the time they present or submit their research paper.
Who is it For?
Ideal for athlete development professionals in High School, Collegiate or Professional sport environments
A focus on applied practice and methodologies – what works and what does not
Expand your perspective by working with a group of professionals to explore a practical challenge in the field
A Special Note to Coaches
Coaches play a critical role in the development of athletes both as performers on the playing surface and as people. It is becoming increasingly clear that there is a strong relationship between a healthy well adjusted person and a consistent elite athletic performer. Athlete development is not about X’s and O’s. It is about optimizing the athlete from the ‘neck up’ and the playing surface out. Coaches seeking an edge in understanding the critical role athlete development can play in impacting player performance and development would reap significant benefits from participation in the EADA.
